Eureka, Montana

Designed by three of the most renowned golf course architects, The Wilderness Club takes advantage of its mountainous landscapes and natural setting.  Designers Lee Schmidt, Nick Faldo and Brian Curley put the best of their talents together to design a public course that consistently ranks at the top of Golfweek’s best courses in Montana.

Old Works Golf Course – Old Works
Anaconda, MT

The Old Works course is one of e 310 courses that (Jack) Nicklaus Design has created throughout his distinguished career. As one of the largest Superfund waste areas in America, the site was also one of the most challenging to design. Nicklaus’ first signature design in Montana incorporated many historic relics of the copper smelter, from the flue and oven remains, to fairways that border and wind their way between black slag.

Reserve at Moonlight Basin
Big Sky, Montana

Here’s another gem designed by Jack Nicklaus and is one of the many distinguished amenities one can enjoy at the Moonlight Basin resort. It’s a ‘long-drivers’ dream due to its 7,500’ elevation where the air is thinner and golf balls soar longer with every drive. The course’s 7,800 playable yards are wrapped with every opportunity to unplug and unwind among its oh-so-silent and spectacular setting.

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort Golf Course
Anaconda, Montana

If you have yet to experience this course’s ‘mile-high, mile long’ 5th hole, this year is the year to do so. The green is a mile high, and the tee box is 649 yards away – making this hole, and the course, one of Montana’s most challening.  Another iconic feature is the 3rd hole which hosts a three-tiered 10,000 square-foot putting surface.

Whitefish Lake Golf Club
Whitefish, Montana

With a history that dates back to the 1920s, the Whitefish Lake Golf Club continues to host generations of golf enthusiasts who head to the pristine northwest corner of Montana. Its 36-hole classic links-style design is a tribute to its famed designer, Arnold Palmer. At its 6,500 elevation, this is another course to boost the egos of those who treasure every opportunity to drive the ball as far as their talent will allow.

Double Arrow Resort
Seely Lake, Montana

We love this course, and you will too. The views are flat-out gorgeous, and the course is a treat as well. Carved among gentle rolling hills and towering pines, the course will challenge you and continually distract you with its views of the Swan Mountains to the east and Mission Mountains to the west. Each hole is a masterpiece in itself, with Number 15 as the signature hole, featuring an elevated tee and island green.

Stock Farm
Hamilton, Montana

Nestled in the hills above the city of Hamilton is a masterpiece that evolved from the vision of Charles Schwab and his passion for golf, shotting and fly-fishing.  Golf course designer Tom Fazio called the Stock Farm Club the “Augusta of the West,”  Now in its 23rd year of opeartion, Stock Farm Club boasts one of the longest seasons in montana.

Meadow Lake Golf Resort
Columbia Falls, Montana

The Flathead Valley is a mecca for recreation year-round and during the summer months, it’s a golfer’s heaven. Golf Digest gave Meadow Lake Golf Resort a 4.5-star rating and tapped it as ‘one of the top five’ public golf courses in Montana. Its 18-hole, 72 par design encourages beginners as much as it challenges the seasoned golf pro. Golf Magazine also praises the course’s design and beautiful setting, noting it is a “must-play” and one for all to enjoy.

Northern Pines Golf Club
Kalispell, Montana

US Open Champion Andy North spared nothing when designing the two nine-hole courses at Northern Pine Golf Club. The course is truly a masterpiece in the heart of Northwest Montana. The front plays homage to rolling Scottish links-style golf while the serene back nine plays through elevation changes as it wraps around the Stillwater River.

Eagle Bend Golf Course
Big Fork, Montana

This private, 27-hole championship course is forged from the dramatic Flathead Valley landscape. The three distinct nines accentuate the beauty of sweeping mountain ranges, water, and trees. From tee to green, the team at Eagle Bend takes extraordinary pride in its exceptional playing conditions and layout.

Cottonwood Hills
Bozeman, Montana

Established in 1984, Cottonwood Hills Golf Course is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Gallatin Valley. With 27 immaculately maintained holes, the course has options for the novice to the most advanced. It’s a par 72 championship course that stretches over 7000 yards from the back tee boxes. We like to play on Cottonwood Hill’s 9-hole course with our family as the layout offers easier options with most holes averaging about 150 yards.

Briarwood Golf Club
Billings, Montana

The Briarwood Golf Club has twice been recognized by Golf Digest as the #1 course in Montana and has been 2nd and 3rd three other times. The course offers a breathtaking view of Billings along with some of the most diverse terrain and memorable holes a golfer can encounter. To meet all levels of play, the course includes four sets of adult tee boxes and two sets of junior tee boxes. While The Briarwood is a private, member-owned course, they do extend playing privileges for members of other clubs.
