New Year, New You – Top Spas in Montana

Top spas in Montana

After the holiday rush, our bodies crave a little downtime, time to relax, refresh, and reset for a new year and a new you. Fortunately for all who live and visit the Treasure State, a fine collection of top spas in Montana offers the perfect escape.

Whether your life is wrapped with the endless winter adventures that come with living life under the Big Sky, or your plans include a visit to our majestic state, our family at Hollinger Real Estate in Montana encourages you to find some “me” time at some of our favorite spas noted below.

The Lodge at Whitefish

Whitefish, Montana

Just a short, scenic drive from our real estate office in Big Fork and near Glacier National Park is The Lodge at Whitefish. Inside and out, its décor mirrors its history of the grandeur of yesteryear when dignitaries from near and far escaped to the Lake to revel in the property’s private and pristine setting.

Within the Lodge is a quaint and quintessential spa that offers an array of opportunities to relax and rejuvenate here in the Northern Rockies.

Although we enjoy all of their options, we recommend the Therapeutic Swedish Massage.

The Loft Spa

Bozeman, Montana

Their website notably tells what you will experience when you step inside.

“We hold the values of acceptance, self-love, embracing natural beauty, and meeting your body where it is. We are driven by integrity for the benefit of all involved and value quality of life and balance above all else.”

In addition to its mission, the Spa is a beautiful retreat – visually clean and modern yet still retaining some Western charm.

The available customization is the draw here: depending on one’s mood, spa packages can ” indulge,” preserve,” relax,” or “nourish,” – the latter of which includes a customized massage and customized facial, classic mani-pedi, and a 45-minute Hammam.

The Ranch at Rock Creek

Phillipsburg, Montana

With accolades as the “World’s First Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Ranch,” this all-inclusive retreat is one for the spa lovers’ “bucket list.” For those who envision Montana with jaw-dropping views of the vast Big Sky Country and scenes of the Old West, this is your destination. Reviews note it as “the best of both worlds, rugged and restorative, with luxurious accommodations that are often sought by the rich and famous – yet a fine value.” In fact, its Forbes rating confirms its integrity for its five-star rating.

Our choice is Rock Creek’s Sapphire Hydration Wrap at an excellent value.

Sanctuary Spa & Salon

Billings, Montana

Unlike any other spa we have ever experienced, the Sanctuary Spa and Salon is uniquely set apart from any other in Montana, perhaps the USA, not because of its offerings, but because of its philosophy.

Sanctuary was created in 1998 as a dream of founder Kris Carpenter, born and raised in Billings. At Sanctuary, they decided to offer their support through donations rather than spend their dollars on traditional advertising. All team members participate in charitable outreach volunteerism as part of their employment.

This philosophy makes it very simple to spend the entire day experiencing their “Sanctuary Day Package.” This SEVEN-hour experience includes:

  • Choice of Sanctuary Body Polish
  • 60-minute Sanctuary Massage
  • 60-minute Sanctuary Facial
  • Sanctuary Spa Pedicure
  • Sanctuary Manicure
  • Shampoo & Natural Finish blow dry hair styling
  • Lunch
  • Take-home gift

Fairmont Hot Springs

Anaconda, Montana

The history of Fairmont Hot Springs is often enough to entice our visiting relatives and friends to experience this destination in Anaconda. As the story is told, its “Medicine Waters” (the 12 pools that exist today) were first enjoyed by Native American tribes such as the Flathead, Shoshone, and Nez Pierce, who set up their tepees within the property as we see it today.

That history within itself makes it worth the trip. We encourage you to read about its past, which paved the path to its popularity today.

Our choice for relaxation is often the “Lazy Day Meltdown.” And for  “expecting” mothers, the team at the Spa specializes in pre- and post-natal massage!

Chico Hot Springs

Pray, Montana

For those who prefer a more natural and rustic spa experience, Chico Hot Springs is more of a classic hot springs experience than a four or five-star retreat. We refer our friends who seek a base camp close to Yellowstone National Park to head to Pray, Montana. Within the destination, there’s a beautiful boutique hotel, luxury cabins and the option for rustic lodging.

Our choice for some R & R in a most casual sense is to slip into “The Plunge” – a set of pools of mineral content – discovered late in the 19th century.

Meadow Lake Resort

Columbia Falls, Montana

If you have plans to visit or retreat to a spa environment with the whole family, Meadow Lake Resort is a perfect spot. Promoted as a “Gold-Crown seasonal oasis for skiing and golf,” this resort offers lodging in their hotel or condominiums that welcome visitors year-round.

Their spa facility offers a full menu of options to pamper you from head to toe in their quaint and cozy setting.

When we finally find some downtime, their “Flavor of the Seasons” is always our first choice. Their package includes an initial body scrub with homemade products followed by a Vichy Shower, Swedish Massage, and Mountain Life Face Massage.
