There is one of these. Quiet Waters Lodge sits on the peninsula formed by Whitefish Lake and the Whitefish River, in the heart of City Beach. A handcrafted lodgepole pine log home featured in Log Home Living, hand-built by Legacy Log Homes and master craftsman Dave Snyder, who hand-peeled every log himself. One block from Whitefish Lake and City Beach. A half block from the river trails into downtown's restaurants, shops, and Depot Park. North of the bridge, clear of winter ski traffic. Whitefish Lake summers, Big Mountain winters, and Glacier National Park at your door. Inside, the main home rises 28 feet through vaulted ceilings and exposed log trusses to a Chief Cliff Stone fireplace hand-built by three generations of Montana craftsmen. A second gas fireplace warms the master suite, which opens to a 200 sq ft covered patio with views of the lake. Four covered patios in all. Radiant heat when the snow flies, air conditioning when it's time to jump in the lake. Steam showers, jetted tub, custom leaded-crystal front door, old-world fixtures, Thermador and Viking appliances. Interiors by Barb Cooke. Offered fully furnished, so you arrive and start living. The fully permitted 240 sq ft detached studio suite is built for how people live here now: work from Whitefish in a private office, train and recover in a fitness and wellness space with an oversized authentic Finnish sauna, and give guests their own sleeping quarters for detached privacy. No HOA or CC&Rs. Copper gutters, fully irrigated grounds, mature buckeye, plum, and apple trees, two parking spaces off a quiet dead-end alley. Meticulously maintained every year since completion, and it shows. A full-time home for those who live here, or a lock-and-leave retreat that earns its keep when you're away. Income potential if desired: summer months proven at $22,500/mo. Twelve minutes to Whitefish Mountain Resort, 26 to Glacier Park Airport, 41 to Glacier National Park. The car stays parked all weekend.
